Key

Monthly Responses: This represents all emergency and non-emergency responses over the course of a month.

Monthly Transports: Roughly 25 percent of the calls Sunstar Paramedics responds to each month do not require hospital transport. Examples include car accidents with no injuries and minor injuries or illnesses in which the patient decides to seek follow up care of their own volition.

Sch Calls: These are pre-scheduled calls where a hospital or long term care facility arranges to have an ambulance transport a patient to another medical facility at a specific time.

Emerg Calls: All 9-1-1 calls are considered emergencies. In some cases, citizens call our non-emergency line. Calls to the non-emergency line are screened and are upgraded to emergency status depending on the nature of the patient’s complaint. Sunstar responds to all emergencies with lights and sirens.

Emerg Compliance: From the time a 911 call is received by our dispatch center, Sunstar Paramedics must respond within 10 minutes, 90% of the time, in order to meet Pinellas County emergency compliance standards.
