Full-time paramedics who join Sunstar Paramedics through the 5-35 Plan are eligible to receive a $35,000 cash bonus after 5 years of employment,* $2,000 sign-on bonus and relocation assistance.

Sunstar Paramedics is an all-ALS high-performance 911 system serving more than 1 million residents in Pinellas County, Florida, part of the Tampa Bay region. Its 80 new ALS ambulances and support vehicles are fully stocked with new state-of-the-art equipment.

Applicants are required have the following qualifications:

  • Current NREMT certification or current Florida paramedic certification
  • Florida driver’s license
  • Basic Trauma Life Support (BTLS) certification
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification
  • CPR certification

Out of State Residents

All emergency personnel applicants must hold current NREMT certification or be certified in the state of Florida.

EMTs and paramedics who were trained through out-of-state or on a military installation programs are eligible to take the Florida certification examination as long as the training was provided in accordance with the U.S. DOT National Standard Curriculum and the certification remains in good standing.
