Sunstar Paramedics is a high-performance 911 system, serving more than 1 million people in Pinellas County, Florida, part of the Tampa Bay region.

Applicants are required have at least the following qualifications:

  •   Florida driver’s license
  •   High school diploma or equivalent
  •   Must be at least 20 years old
  •   CPR certification

Out of State Residents

All emergency personnel applicants must be certified in the state of Florida.

EMTs and paramedics who were trained through out-of-state or on a military installation programs are eligible to take the Florida certification examination as long as the training was provided in accordance with the U.S. DOT National Standard Curriculum and the certification remains in good standing.
