Sunstar Crew Recognized at Patient Reunification Ceremony

February 6, 2026

On Friday, February 6, 2026, Sunstar Paramedics experienced another powerful moment of purpose.

We are grateful to our community partners, Madeira Beach Fire Department, HCA Florida Largo Hospital, and Pinellas County Communications, for the opportunity to reunite with a patient we cared for during a cardiac arrest.

Thanks to rapid bystander CPR and exceptional professional care, this patient was able to stand before his rescuers and personally express his gratitude. It was wonderful to share laughter and tears of joy together.

The Chain of Survival truly works. Every link — from the first call to definitive care — matters, and when each link is strong, lives are saved.

A special congratulations to Paramedic Corey Grahn, EMT Ava Pavlik, and Paramedic Anthony Doll for a job exceptionally well done. Your clinical excellence, teamwork, and dedication made all the difference.

You are true superstars, and we could not be more proud.

A video of the story and event has been provided by Pinellas County Government:
