October 20, 2020

David Musgrave is alive to tell his story, thanks to his son’s bravery and the outstanding response from emergency responders. After finding his father laying on the ground in cardiac arrest, Zachery Musgrave reacted quickly, calling 9-1-1 and performing life-saving CPR under the guidance of the 911 emergency operator, until medical professionals from Sunstar Paramedics and Largo Fire Rescue arrived.

On October 14th, Niesa and Ryan along with the crew members from Largo Fire Rescue and the 911 Dispatcher got to meet the man who’s life they helped save. They also gave credit to Mr. Musgraves son for his role in performing early CPR on his father.

Often, first responders do not learn the outcome of their work. On this day they were able to see how their efforts made a difference and were able to celebrate their success with Mr. Musgrave and his family.

Largo Medical Center CEO Adam Rudd honored Sunstar Paramedic Niesa Jones and EMT Ryan Pavao, by presenting them with the HCA All-Star Awards. In addition 911 dispatcher – Matthew Albright, and members of Largo Fire Rescue: Lt. Ben Gebo, FF/EMT Danny Keefe, FF/PM Clarence Wilson, FF/PM Alana Morris, FF/PM Brian Anderson received this award for the teams life saving actions.
