Child Passenger Safety

September 16, 2014

One child under 13 years old is involved in a crash every 34 seconds. Car seats can save lives, but they must be used correctly. Nearly all parents and caregivers (96 percent) believe their child’s safety seat is installed correctly, however, seven out of ten children are improperly restrained (SeatCheck.org).

Sunstar Paramedics in partnership with the Suncoast Safe Kids Coalition is conducting free safety seat checks for any parent or caregiver who comes to Dick Norris GMC on National Seat Check Saturday, Sept. 20. Parents and caregivers can learn tips for proper vehicle restraints and instruction on correctly installing a car seat.
