Gesterling & Harrington receieve 2024 Stars of Life Awards

November 13, 2024
The American Ambulance Association is thrilled to celebrate the 143 EMS professionals selected as 2024 Stars of Life in DC in just two weeks. As you know, Stars is our #1 PR and social media event of the year. Please help us showcase your Stars with the info below!

Highlighting Your Agency’s Stars

A Few More Ideas from AAA Communications Chair Alexia Jobson

Create your own content with a quick video interview of the Star. Ask them:

  • why they got into EMS
  • what is one of their most positive memories of their job
  • to tell you a funny or meaningful memory they have about a partner
  • what they like to do when they aren’t working

Send pictures of the Star and the press release to your local TV stations – there’s a good chance they will run the story even while the Star is in DC. Reach out to the media NOW with the story – the closer it gets to the election, the less airtime there will be for this softer news.

Have an internal celebration in advance of the Stars event and invite the media.

Host a Stars reunion and invite the media and/or create content from that.

Gather past Stars (even if they are retired but still in your community) and let them share their stories with one another about their time in EMS, favorite memories, challenges, ways they support one another, etc.

Media Coverage to Date
Stories are coming out every day! Be sure to complete and share the AAA press release template (or one of your own creation) so that your local journos can toast YOUR Stars!
