Kids experience a day at Sunstar

April 29, 2015

Sunstar Paramedics and Pinellas County EMS participated in “Bring Your Child to Work Day” on April 23. More than 20 children visited the Pinellas County EMS building in Largo to learn what their parents do for a living.

One of those visitors was Dave Selbach’s daughter, Kaitlyn. She saw her dad teach CPR classes to Sunstar employees. Selbach is a CPR instructor and car seat technician who is working to recertify all Sunstar paramedics and EMTs in Healthcare Provider CPR.

In addition, Sunstar’s community outreach coordinator Charlene Cobb and paramedic Lisa Lester visited a local hospice organization to show the employees’ children how Sunstar works with hospice employees to transport patients. The kids were also able to climb inside the ambulance to see how it works.
