Scott Waitekus Named Pinellas County Medical Dispatcher of the Year

On May 20, 2025 The Pinellas County Board of County Commissioners recognized Sunstar Paramedics Scott Waitekus as the Pinellas County Dispatcher of the Year for his outstanding performance providing critical pre arrival instructions to citizens during hurricane Milton. Scotts calm demeanor, ability to connect with callers along with his strong medical background enabled him to be the calm during the storm. Scott is a 10 year Sunstar Paramedic employee, Certified Emergency Medical Technician, Emergency Medical Dispatcher and State of Florida Telecommunicator.
