Sunstar Paramedic named 2013 Dunedin VFW’s Paramedic of the Year

December 21, 2013

Sunstar Paramedics’ Jimmy Bryant has been named the 2013 Dunedin VFW’s Paramedic of the Year, due to his outstanding patient care, proven moral and ethical behavior, and leadership within Sunstar and the Tampa Bay community. Bryant was awarded this honor on Dec. 21, 203 in an awards dinner held at the Dunedin VFW.

Bryant joined Sunstar in 2009 and has had a positive impact as an EMT and paramedic, serving on the special events team and All Children’s transport team. He has climbed the training and education ranks, first as a preceptor and then as Field Training Officer (F.T.O.).

Active in the community, Bryant volunteers for numerous foundations including Shriner’s Hospital, Masonic Cardiac Medical Research Foundation, and the Muscular Dystrophy Association. He is an instructor for the Fortis Institute, teaching EMT and paramedic courses, and works closely with the education department on the education advisory board.

Bryant was also selected as one of four medics to provide care during the Barth Syndrome Foundation convention.
