Sunstar Paramedics employee selected for 40 Under 40 recognition

American Ambulance Association (AAA) announced their 40 Under 40 winners on Monday, February 17, 2020.  One of those selected was Sunstar Paramedics director of clinical services, Jeremy Tinter.

According to John Peterson, chief operating officer of Sunstar, “Jeremy has made significant process improvements that have streamlined hiring and training for Sunstar.  His efforts have been instrumental in making Sunstar an award-winning EMS operation.  No one is more deserving of this honor.”

Under Jeremy’s leadership, the clinical services department was recognized at the state level as Educator of the Year and at the national level by AAA as an Amby Award winner for excellence in EMS in 2017.

Jeremy served as the clinical services coordinator for Sunstar from June 2015 until June 2016 and held various positions ranging from field training officer, critical care paramedic and assistant supervisor over the last 10 years.  His career has been focused largely on education and training and he holds multiple instructor ratings ranging from American Heart Association (AHA) to the National Association of Emergency Medical Technicians (NAEMT).  He leads the simulation lab for Pinellas County and has been responsible for clearing clinicians as field ready.

He is a certified paramedic in the state of Florida and has served as an adjunct, non-credit faculty/CME Instructor at St. Petersburg College as well as teaching continuing education classes through the Pinellas County Authority CME Program for EMTs, paramedics and nurses.  He was the recipient of the 2016 AAA Star of Life award.

Jeremy is a Florida native and long-time resident of Pinellas County.  He earned a bachelor’s degree from the University of South Florida (USF).  He is a graduate of the EMS Leadership Academy and is currently working toward earning his master’s degree from USF.

AAA 40 Under 40 nominees are selected based on their contributions to AAA, their employer, state ambulance association, other professional associations and / or the EMS profession.
