September 20, 2021

Largo, Florida

Sunstar Paramedics is pleased to announce that our Critical Care Transport Team program (CCT) has received reaccreditation from the Commission on Accreditation of Medical Transport Systems (CAMTS). We have proudly maintained this accreditation consecutively since 2006.

Sunstar’s Critical Care Transport program is one of only a few ground teams in the nation that utilizes a dual provider nurse/ medic configuration. Our skilled, experienced nurses are essential to our commitment to providing the best care to our patients. We have been providing critical care transports since 1992, and complete more than 1,250 CCT transports every year.

With our Critical Care Transport program, patients receive the highly skilled level of care they require.
We have a critical care ambulance on call 24 hours a day, every day. The ambulance is located mid-county to minimize travel time to any dispatch location

About CAMTS: The Commission on Accreditation of Medical Transport Systems (CAMTS) is an independent, non-profit agency which audits and accredits fixed-wing, rotary wing, and surface medical transport services worldwide to a set of industry-established criteria. CAMTS has accredited 182 medical transport programs worldwide as of February 2017. The Standards are the core element to the CAMTS program, which declares that the highest priorities for medical transport services companies are “patient care and safety of the transport environment”. CAMTS accreditation, once granted, lasts for three years, at which time it can be renewed by being reaudited. Preparation for initial accreditation generally takes from four to six months, as the process examines all aspects of operations, from management to medical protocols to flight operations.
