“Positively Tampa Bay” celebrates Sunstar EMT’s recent achievement

July 8, 2015

Sunstar Paramedics EMT Tsambika “Sam” Aysh was recognized as Florida’s “EMT of the Year” in honor of her compassion, dedication and commitment to providing quality patient care.

Last fall, Aysh and her partner Robin Webb responded to a home where a woman had died. Through the course of their work, Aysh and Webb learned that the woman’s son had a birthday on the following day. They returned on the boy’s birthday to give him a gift to help ease his emotional pain and allow him to feel a bit of normalcy in the wake of losing his mother.

Aysh previously recognized as “EMT of the Year” by Pinellas County Board of County Commissioners and as a Care Plus Award honoree by Sunstar Paramedics.

Supervisor Megan Hollern nominated Aysh for the awards and joined her on ABC Action News’ “Positively Tampa Bay” segment last week to discuss the award and situation that led to her nomination.
